John McCain to the Des Moines Register on Sarah Palin

What McCain says here is at the same time a joke and a lie. The first part is a joke. The second part, concerning Mrs. Palin's "vast experience with one of America's significant challenges, energy" by getting a $40 Billion ("with a B") pipeline, is a lie. She paid off the Canadian Joint Venture to the tune of $500,000,000 (that's $500 MILLION, with an "M") "just to get a seat at the table" and the "agreement" that was signed with the oil company for a CNG pipeline obligates the Canadians to do absolutely NOTHING. She gave away the money for nothing.
